Kick-off 2017 Texas Speed Week with Sun & Ski’s Tuesday Nighter in Richardson. A, B, and C races with C’s rolling at 5:45.
Wednesday, May 24 – Bicycles Inc. Wednesday Night Crits, Fort Worth
Located at North East Tarrant County near intersection of 183 and 820, this is the perfect mid-week race to get your race rig dialed, your legs open, and your head ready for the weekend. A, B, and C races with C’s kicking the night off at 5:30.
Thursday, May 25 – Fair Park Crit, Dallas
A North Texas favorite, King Racing Group’s Fair Park Crit is a four corner rectangle providing some of the fastest, most competitive weeknight racing in the state. Love it or hate it, they also utilize chip timing for on the spot results and lap times. Make sure your pistons are firing against some of the state’s fastest crit racers as the weekend races take-off tomorrow.
Friday, May 26 – Bike the Bricks, McKinney
One of the fastest and most spectator friendly crits of the season, the 8th annual Bike the Bricks crit is in downtown McKinney and features $25,000 in prize money! Skip out of work early on Friday and start your Memorial Day Weekend off with a bang! Races start at 3pm and go until midnight. Bring the family and don’t miss out!
Saturday, May 27 – Fair Park Crit, Dallas
Are you ready to go fast AND get down? Texas Speed Week continues with a different groove in honor of Saturday Night Fever’s 40th anniversary. Saturday’s event takes place in the afternoon/evening just outside downtown Dallas under the lights of Fair Park, home of the State Fair of Texas. When you’re not dancing on the pedals, take part in the Big Wag Disco Dance Contest and summon your inner Tony/Stephanie for a chance to be crowned the disco champ. Can you dig it??
Sunday, May 28 – Texas State Age-based Championships, Greenville
This is where things get serious. It’s time to race for Texas state championship jerseys and a year’s worth of bragging rights as the Texas State Crit Champships get rolling in Greenville. Sunday race against those with the same date on their birth certificate but varying degrees of expertise in the age-based championships. The course has a bit of everything thing with 90 degree turns, a sweeper, long straightaways, and even a few bricks for good measure.
Monday, May 29 – Texas State Skill-based Championships, Greenville
The finale and for all the marbles, Memorial Day Monday is the Texas State Crit Championships Skill-based race! Same city, different course. See how you stack up against Texas’ best in your respective category. Its winner takes all and the chance to write your name in the Texas State Champion crit record books. We hope you saved a few matches this week because things are going to get HOT!
